Most paddlers complete the out-and-back route in about two hours, making it an easy and enjoyable experience for a wide range of skill levels. For those planning a longer outing, half-day rentals allow time to explore beyond the canal, including a stop on Lake Eustis for lunch or a refreshing drink at a local lakefront restaurant Fish Camp on Lake Eustis - a favorite way to spend a relaxed day on the water. The Harris Chain of Lakes is shared with other watercraft, including motorboats. Boat traffic is typically lightest in the morning hours, especially on weekends. If you’re looking for a quieter, more peaceful paddle, we recommend launching as early as possible — it’s well worth the early start.
