Explore the Dora Canal at your own pace with a self-guided single kayak rental. Paddle beneath cypress trees and watch for birds, turtles, fish, and other wildlife as you choose a route that suits your rental time and comfort level. Our 11'6" sit-on-top kayaks have supportive aluminum frame seats and are designed for a comfortable paddle. Beginners are welcome. Before you launch, our team will review the route map with you, offer local tips, and provide a brief paddling and safety orientation. Frequently asked questions

Our paddle route is approximately 2.5-3 miles total in length. The average paddler can paddle this in about 2 hours. If you really like to take your time paddling and take lots of nature photographs or exploring feeder canals, we recommend a 3-hour rental time. **If you plan to stop at Fish Camp (waterfront restaurant on Lake Eustis) we would recommend a 4-hour paddle rental so you are not rushed at the restaurant.
Bring sunscreen, a hat, and water for proper hydration while you are out in the Florida elements.
No, our single kayaks are suitable for beginners and experienced paddlers alike. Our experienced guides will help give instruction to anyone that needs it before heading out.
Yes, but our rentals include all necessary equipment.
If weather conditions are unsafe (lightning, high winds, etc.), we will contact you to reschedule or offer a full refund.

This is a self-guided paddle

Beginners are welcome. This is a self-guided rental, so you’ll paddle without a guide after your route and safety briefing.

Timing matters

On weekends the motorboat traffic can get heavy, so we recommend launching early for the best experience through the Dora Canal.

What to Wear

Comfortable, quick drying clothing you don't mind getting a little wet, water shoes or sandals, and sun protection (sunscreen, hat, sunglasses)

What to Bring

A reusable water bottle to stay hydrated waterproof case for phone (we sell and rent these at our shop). A towel and change of clothes for after your experience.

Cancellation Policy

Cancel 24 hours or more in advance – Receive a full refund minus non-refundable credit card processing fees. Cancel less than 24 hours in advance – Receive a 50% refund. Cancel on the day of your reservation or no-shows – No refund will be issued. Trip Protection Option: Guests who add Trip Protection at checkout may cancel up to the start time of their activity for a full refund, minus non-refundable processing fees. (Highly recommend)

An amazing experience for a family, great value in comparison to other tours we looked at. Plenty of advice, guidance and care from Katrina. Benefit was there was no current and a wide canal for passing so good for anyone who hasn’t been kayaking before. We see plenty of wildlife…

The lady who helped us was very nice and welcoming. The kayak experience was definitely worth it, and we had a great time out on the water for four hours.
