Wear comfortable swimwear or quick-drying clothing that you don’t mind getting wet. Water shoes or secure sandals are recommended. Bring a towel, sunscreen, and a change of clothes.
Not at all! This lesson is designed for first-time and beginner paddlers, but it’s also a great refresher for anyone wanting to improve their balance, technique, or confidence.
Each lesson lasts approximately one hour. Please arrive 10 minutes early so we can get everyone fitted with equipment and begin on time.
Lessons are held on a calm, private spring-fed lake in Tavares, separate from our downtown waterfront location. The exact meeting address and arrival instructions will be included in your booking confirmation.
Alligators can be present in any natural body of fresh water in Florida, so we can never guarantee that a lake is completely alligator-free. However, this is the lake where we live, paddle, and regularly swim, and sightings are extremely uncommon. In seven years, we have only seen an alligator twice. We remain aware of lake conditions, respect all wildlife, and only conduct lessons when conditions are appropriate.
Your paddle board, paddle, fitted life vest, whistle, and personalized instruction are all included. We’ll cover balance, proper paddling technique, turning, stopping, getting on and off the board, and basic water safety.
Participants must be at least 12 years old. The maximum rider weight for our paddle boards is 225 pounds. Please call us at 352-217-5012 before booking if you have questions about equipment or bringing your own board.
You might! Learning to paddle board is part of the fun, and an occasional splash or fall can happen. We do like to include water skills when our water temperature is warm in the lake. Dress for the water and bring a towel and change of clothes.
Lessons are weather-dependent. If conditions are unsafe, we’ll contact you to reschedule your lesson or provide a refund according to our weather policy.
Our regularly scheduled lessons are offered Monday and Friday mornings at 9:00 AM and Saturday mornings at 8:00 AM. If you need another time, call us at 352-217-5012 and we’ll be happy to discuss availability.

Cancellation Policy

Cancel 24 hours or more in advance – Receive a full refund minus non-refundable credit card processing fees. Cancel on the day of your reservation or no-shows – No refund will be issued. Trip Protection Option: Guests who add Trip Protection at checkout may cancel up to the start time of their activity for a full refund, minus non-refundable processing fees. (Highly recommend)
