Frequently asked questions

How much rental time do I need to paddle at your location?

Our paddle route is approximately 2.5-3 miles total in length. The average paddler can paddle this in about 2 hours. If you really like to take your time paddling and take lots of nature photographs or exploring feeder canals, we recommend a 3-hour rental time. **If you plan to stop at Fish Camp (waterfront restaurant on Lake Eustis) we would recommend a 4-hour paddle rental so you are not rushed at the restaurant.

What should I bring?

Bring sunscreen, a hat, and water for proper hydration while you are out in the Florida elements.

Is prior experience required?

No, our single kayaks are suitable for beginners and experienced paddlers alike. Our experienced guides will help give instruction to anyone that needs it before heading out.

Can I bring my own equipment?

Yes, but our rentals include all necessary equipment.

What happens if the weather is bad?

If weather conditions are unsafe (lightning, high winds, etc.), we will contact you to reschedule or offer a full refund.

This is a self-guided paddle

You’ll be exploring at your own pace, so basic paddling experience is recommended.

Timing matters

On weekends the motorboat traffic can get heavy, so we recommend launching early for the best experience through the Dora Canal.

Bring the essentials

We recommend a hat, sunscreen, refillable water bottle, and dry bag or waterproof pouch for your phone (we also sell dry bags at our waterfront shop on Lake Dora).

Life jackets and safety instructions provided.

Cancellation Policy

Cancel 24 hours or more in advance – Receive a full refund minus a $5 flat cancellation fee. Cancel less than 24 hours in advance – Receive a 50% refund. Cancel on the day of your reservation or no-shows – No refund will be issued.

Great little business and super friendly service. Katrina greeted us upon arriving at the lake. She was super friendly, helpful and answered all of our questions, told us about the town and gave us some coffee and lunch suggestions. The creek was running very heavy due to some recent rains and the city having the damn open, which causes there to be a pretty good current that causes the paddle back to be significantly more challenging and requires more time on the water. Katrina explained to us that they were giving everybody one extra hour with purchased time allotment this week because of that. That is a business that shows respect to their customers and knows how to run a good business!
